UK Sponsorship Awards Announces Special One-Off Award To Celebrate Sponsorship Craft And Creativity - New Accolade To Be Called 2020 Vision Award

The organisers of the UK Sponsorship Awards (UKSA) are delighted to announce a special one off award for the 2020 edition of the industry’s leading awards event, which will take place in the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on March 24th 2020. Called the 2020 Vision Award, the new accolade will celebrate the creativity and craft that underpins the sponsorship sector.

While most of UKSA’s Awards categories focus on the three pillars of objectives, activation and results, the 2020 Vision Award is looking for outstanding executions where sublime craft has brought an exceptional creative idea to life. The category is open to every area of the sponsorship sector and will focus on areas such as design, craft, artistry, technique, expertise, talent, vision and iconic imagery. It runs alongside UKSA’s innovation award, which is concentrated more on the use of future-facing, game-changing or unorthodox technology.

“This is a new Award,” said UKSA organiser Rosemary Sarginson, “so it will be shaped to some extent by the industry itself. But right now we envisage it as a showcase for all kinds of amazing executions. Branded content and sponsorship credits would both be eligible, but so would event design or a unique art installation. The winner might be a one-off iconic image that attracted huge global headlines or a campaign that seamlessly integrates a brand’s message into a consumer experience such as a cricket match or music festival. The judges’ watchwords will be creativity, craft and design.”

To be eligible for the 2020 Vision Award, companies will need to adhere to the same date range as other categories. They will not be required to demonstrate that objectives have been met, but they will need to explain, in 200-300 words, why their campaign or execution stands out in terms of its craft and creativity. The purpose of the Award is to demonstrate that the craft base in sponsorship is as impressive as more celebrated media such as film, television, theatre and advertising.

For more information about this new Award, feel free to contact Rosemary at info@sponsorship-awards.co.uk. In mid-November, UKSA will publish a short feature giving examples of historic sponsorship campaigns and executions that would have stood a good chance of winning this award. If the one-off Award is successful, it will be added to future event line-ups.
