Trek-Segafredo Race Team Partners With CA Technologies

Octagon client CA Technologies has signed a global, multi-year partnership with Trek’s professional racing team, Trek-Segafredo, launching with the 2016 Tour of Flanders race. CA Agile Management technology will help the team better collaborate, deliver performance feedback in real-time, and accelerate development processes.

Trek is a multinational bicycle and cycling product manufacturer. Its professional racing team, Trek-Segafredo, competes across the world in 21 countries on four continents, culminating at a major global event, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) WorldTour.

“The world of cycling is driven by data. The challenge is channeling the enormous volumes of available data to improve how our team performs, both operationally and on the race course,” said Joe Vadeboncoeur, vice president of Trek Bicycle Corporation. “With its track record of helping organisations succeed in today’s application economy, CA Technologies is the ideal technology partner for the Trek-Segafredo team. CA Technologies solutions and services will help us coordinate data from multiple groups of people, across time zones and continents, enabling us to work as an even more productive and unified team.”

“Agile is a mindset that helps business move faster from ideas to outcomes. That’s exactly what the Trek-Segafredo team is focused on – its mission is racing to win, and it is finding ways to use technology to advance that mission,” said Marco Comastri, general manager and president, Europe, Middle East and Africa, CA Technologies. “Through our partnership, CA will help the Trek-Segafredo team to become not just a high performance racing team, but a high-performing enterprise.”

In addition to the 2016 Tour of Flanders race, CA Technologies will participate in other high profile UCI events throughout the duration of the partnership, including the three Grand Tours of the Giro d’ Italia, the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Espana, Japan Cup events, and select others within the UCI’s more than 200 race days per year.
