Telegraph Replaces Guardian As Hay Sponsor

The Telegraph Media Group is the new sponsor of the Hay Festival, taking over from The Guardian. The three-year sponsorship deal covers Hay’s national and international festivals. In addition to the annual 10-day event in Hay-on-Wye, in Powys, Wales, the Hay Festival also includes the Hay Festival Cartagena de Indias in Colombia, Hay Festival Segovia in Spain, and the Hay Festival Beirut Lebanon as well as the Week Hay Festival in Kerala, India, The Maldives Hay Festival, Storymoja Hay Festival in Kenya and Hay Festival Zacatecas in Mexico.
 
The Hay Festival has grown into Britain’s biggest celebration of literature – ticket sales for the 2010 festival exceeded 200,000 for the first time. Gaby Wood, Head of Books for Telegraph Media Group, said: “Its aims are impeccably aligned with the aims of the Telegraph, where we are constantly looking for new ways to introduce writers and readers, and to provide a forum for the most vibrant ideas of our time.”
