Sportside Appoints Sports PR Agency MatchFit

Sportside has appointed MatchFit as its retained PR agency following a competitive pitch. The sports tech company's aim is to connect grassroots participants with their sporting match.

Sportside has ambitious plans for growth illustrated by a July fundraise which secured £15 million from impact investors Fortunis Capital Group. MatchFit will initially lead on communications ahead of the Sportside app launch this autumn, a new one-stop platform which will enable users to 'connect and play' across initially 20 sports and find their perfect sporting match by age, ability and geography. 

As it seeks to build an engaged community driven by a passion for sport, the new app also aims to give clubs and coaches the resource to manage their business and attract new clients.

MatchFit is consolidating its successful first year since launch with further projects for The FA, UEFA Women’s EURO 2021 and COPA90. In May, MatchFit was retained by LiveScore, the real-time sports updates provider, to lead on all communications activity including its free-to-air OTT football live streaming platform, and sponsorship activation for the brand’s sponsorship with LaLiga in Spain.
