Sports Loft Tech Hub Launched To Connect Global Sports And Media

Sports Loft, first tech hub in London focused exclusively on bringing together the global sports & media tech eco-system, has launched at Huckletree workspace in Soho. Sports Loft seeks to provide best sports and media tech companies with access to leading investors and senior industry executives, whilst introducing sports organisations and investors to high growth tech companies in the industry.

“There’s a lot of noise in the sports tech market,” says Charlie Greenwood, who founded Sports Loft after thirteen years at the intersection of sports and technology working with brands such as Nike, AEG, The FA and Premiership Rugby as well as investors such as Stadia Ventures in the US. “With Sports Loft, we are really focusing on bringing the very best sports tech start-ups, investors and industry execs together.”

Sports Loft’s aim is to attract companies that can excite the industry across seed, series A and Series B funding rounds. “We will focus exclusively on sports and media tech; while London has always had one of the most vibrant sports industries in the world, until now there has never been the eco-system to connect the most innovative tech with the investors and the sports industry,” adds Greenwood.

Sports Loft launches with four member start-ups - Satisfi, based in New York, Formalytics, based in Perth and London. Prophet also headquartered in London and Spalk, based in Auckland and New York.

Sports law practice Northridge, will also be joining as Sports Loft’s official legal partner. Founding Partner Jon Walters, said “At Northridge, we have had a great year developing our business with some of the leading companies in sports tech through our Northridge Track programme. We have an established reputation as a market leader in the sports and leisure industry and we are thrilled to partner with Sports Loft in pursuit of our goal of becoming the “go-to” law firm for tech companies and investors operating in that sector. We know that Sports Loft share a desire to work with the very best in the industry and we are excited at being able to support them with their plans.”

Workspace and growth accelerator, Huckletree, will also become Sports Loft’s workspace partner, with Sports Loft operating out of Huckletree’s Soho location, curated for VCs and scaleups.

Founder Charlie added:  “London is an ideal place to launch Sports Loft due to the number of international sports properties and world class venues here, combined with its position as a leading centre for early stage investment. London accounted for 29% of all the investment in European sports tech companies between 2014 and 2018*”
