Saltire Energy sponsors Scottish Rugby

London based agency Global Sports Media have brokered a new sponsorship agreement between Scottish Rugby and Aberdeen-headquartered Saltire Energy, which now becomes an official partner and supporter of youth rugby.

The three-year deal from July 2021 sees the oilfield equipment specialists with pitch side advertising on international matchdays at BT Murrayfield and Scotstoun Stadium for both Scotland’s men’s and women’s teams, promoting its brand internationally, and with a focus on reaching Scots working in the oil industry both at home and overseas.

To support the development of youth rugby and the next generation of future internationals Saltire Energy will also become the Official Partners of the new Scottish Rugby Schools Week planned for September 2021.

Its passion for youth rugby is also expressed through title sponsorship of the Caledonia Cup which is played by age-banded teams of boys and girls across the region, culminating in an annual Finals day, which was last contested in 2019.

Robert Dyan, Founder and Director, Global Sports Media, said: “This partnership is made even more special by the investment in grass roots and future of Scottish Rugby. It’s great to see a Scottish company show a long term commitment to seeing children prosper in life through rugby.”

Commenging on the new deal David Whiteford, Head of New Business, Scottish Rugby, said: “We are delighted to welcome Saltire Energy to the Scottish Rugby partner family.  It was a pleasure working with Global Sports Media to secure this agreement, which was handled efficiently to the benefit of all parties involved.

"We look forward to working alongside Saltire over the next 3 years, and Global Sports Media, on future deals for Scottish Rugby as we look to continue growing our sponsorship and commercial activities off the back of the current performances of the national team and the popularity of rugby both in Scotland and our overseas support.’”
