The Race And WTF1 Appoint Halfspace Group

The Race and WTF1, the digital-first motorsports media businesses which came together in 2020, have  re-appointed Halfspace Group to work across data, audience, and commercial services on a new two-year agreement.

Despite the pandemic disrupting its first year in business, The Race,  launched in February 2020 with a mission to ‘super-serve the super fans’, has achieved growth across its digital channels and solidified standing in the motorsports industry with its acquisition of ten-year-old brand WTF1 in June 2020.

Halfspace Group was initially appointed at the launch of The Race to help build a  CRM alongside enhanced data analytics to gather information and actionable analysis on a variety of motorsports audiences.

Throughout 2020, Halfspace Group also worked on sponsorship, e-commerce, and media rights with the launch of The Race All-Star Esports Series – an event viewed by millions of race fans across Eurosport, ESPN & YouTube and featured legendary drivers such as Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso, and Juan Pablo Montoya, top current day stars and the world’s best esports racers.

“The Halfspace team have surpassed our expectations in what is probably the most challenging year we could have launched the business,” said COO and co-founder Andrew Van De Burgt.
