Papa John's Partners ParalympicsGB Ahead Of Tokyo 2020 Games

Pizza delivery chain Papa John’s has become a partner of ParalympicsGB, as the team prepares for the rescheduled Paralympic games next summer in Tokyo.

With the partnership lasting until the end of 2021, the brand will lend its support by fundraising and joining three  athlete ambassadors, David Weir, Alfie Hewett and Alice Tai on their journey to the games.

The digital marketing campaign, We are Limitless, launched by the pizza chain on 25th August, aims to raise awareness of how each athlete ambassador has overcome challenges they’ve faced and acts as a rallying cry, encouraging both Papa John’s staff and customers to break limits and aim to collectively raise £250,000 for ParalympicsGB.

The Papa John’s ambassadors include wheelchair athlete and Paralympic legend David Weir,  Alfie Hewett, a grand slam champion in wheelchair tennis and swimmer Alice Tai.

Giles Codd, Marketing Director of Papa John’s UK, said: “We are extremely proud to be partnering with ParalympicsGB at such an exciting time for the team. The inspirational work that ParalympicsGB does to support their athletes is so important and we’re delighted that we’re able to help by raising money and awareness.”

Speaking on the partnership, Mike Sharrock, Chief Executive of ParalympicsGB, commented: “We are delighted to launch this exciting new fundraising partnership on the day the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games was originally scheduled to begin.

“The delay has presented us with challenges and opportunities, and we are confident with the support of the British public our talented ParalympicsGB athletes can inspire and unite the nation once again with their performances in Tokyo.”
