SPONSORSPARTNERS
O2’s Wear The Rose Campaign O2 has unveiled is 2016 Wear the Rose 2016 campaign featuring refreshed content and match day activation strategy. Ahead of the RBS 6 Nations, TV presenter and radio DJ Vernon Kay joins Sky Sport’s Alex Payne as a presenter on O2 Inside Line, a behind the scenes show with England Rugby, featuring exclusive interviews, analysis and skills masterclasses from inside camp.
The new look show will feature weekly pre-match and post-match short multiplatform video content hosted by Vernon and Alex respectively, with a focus on O2 and England Rugby’s Twitter and Instagram channels.
Match days will see O2 return to Twickenham with new Wear the Rose stadium activations. In a rugby sponsorship first, O2 will be handing over their external stadium banners to the most passionate England fans. The banners at Twickenham will feature supporters’ faces, photographed at England’s first away game at Murrayfield this weekend by award-winning photographer Jim Fiscus. Those selected will have their fan story turned into a unique piece of video content to be shared via O2’s digital channels.
Vernon Kay will be live from the O2 blueroom in Twickenham’s West Fan Village at home games hosting pre-entertainment as well as post-match player interviews. And O2 customers will also have the chance to receive exclusive rewards, experiences and offers via Priority including England tickets, shirt discounts and mascot places. And for the first time ever, O2 will be giving fans the chance to have the ultimate selfie taken outside of Twickenham in the West Fan Village, using gigapixel technology.
Gareth Griffiths, Head of Sponsorship at O2 said: “Wear the Rose is back and evolving for 2016 with the O2 logo back on the England team shirts. We’re always looking for new and exciting ways of bringing our customers and fans closer to the action, across a wide variety of channels and O2 Inside Line does exactly that. Handing over our stadium branding at Twickenham and capturing unique stories also allows us to celebrate fan’s amazing support.”
O2 will continue to interact with fans through social media during the RBS 6 nations with O2’s Rose Army, one hundred of the country’s biggest rugby fans, recruited to Wear the Rose in 2015. Each week they will take part in a series of themed challenges designed to inspire even more fans to get behind England team and show their support using #WearTheRose.
