The Money Shop Scores Hat Trick With Darts Sponsorship

Instant cash provider The Money Shop has extended its sponsorship of darts champion Raymond Van Barneveld and added top players Simon Whitlock and Paul Nicholson to its growing darts portfolio. Following a successful sponsorship of Raymond Van Barneveld during the 2011 Premier League of Darts, the  short term lender has extended the deal for another 12 months.

The Money Shop has also become official sponsor of Simon Whitlock and Paul Nicholson, ranked 5th and 11th respectively in the PDC Order of Merit. Famous for his hairstyle and long beard, Simon Whitlock is the highest ranked non-British player in the PDC Order of Merit.  Known as ‘The Asset’, Paul Nicholson has created a unique image for himself as the ‘bad boy’ of darts and as a result has attracted much attention on the circuit and in televised events.

All three players will wear The Money Shop’s logo in a prime position on their playing shirts. Included in the sponsorship deal is a range of contractual rights to enable The Money Shop to drive additional brand awareness and customer engagement opportunities.

Andrew Bryan, marketing director for The Money Shop, said: “The Money Shop’s sponsorship of Raymond van Barneveld during this year’s Premier League of Darts was immensely successful so it was a natural decision to extend the deal. Darts has a massive following and extending our association with the sponsorship of Simon Whitlock and Paul Nicholson presents the opportunity to increase awareness with this audience.”

The darts players join Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, Nottingham Forest FC, three-time snooker World Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan and British Touring Car Championship driver Mat Jackson in The Money Shop’s growing sports sponsorship portfolio.
