Liverpool & Manchester United in close tussle for fan-following top spot

According to YouGov research, roughly a fifth of British people who have a favourite Premier League team vote for Liverpool (21%) and Manchester United (21%) as their favourite sides. Manchester United is the comfortable favourite among those aged 18-29, 23% of whom vote for the Red Devils.

Looking at teams with a significantly higher following among the youngest cohort, Chelsea stands out, with those aged 18-29 being four percentage points likelier than the overall group to rate it as their favourite side (13% vs 9%).
