Limelight Sports is working with The FA to support the future growth and development of The FA People’s Cup, the country’s largest small sided competition. The FA People’s Cup first round kicks off nationwide in late February and continues through to the finals in April, hosted for the first time at St. George’s Park, the home of England’s 28 national teams.
The FA People’s Cup is a 5-a-side competition run in partnership with BBC Get Inspired. It was formed in 2015 and it is designed for everyone. In its first year over 30,000 people took part in the competition which resulted in over 1,000 new teams being created. Last year another 35,000 players took part in what has become the largest and most inclusive 5-a-side tournament in the country. It is completely free to enter and there are 18 different categories from U14 girls and boys to over 50s walking football and everything in between.
The FA has asked Limelight Sports to take the event to the next level to drive the competition’s development and enhance the already high standards of execution and participant experience. Limelight will also be developing the strategic plan to help the continued growth and long term impact of the event.
