SPONSORSPARTNERS
UEFA has just announced that Expedia Group will become Official Travel Partner of the UEFA Champions League.
Expedia Group’s Brand Expedia and Hotels.com will front its UEFA Champions League sponsorship in a three-season deal that also grants the brands sponsorship rights for the UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Youth League finals and the UEFA Futsal Champions League finals.
Expedia Group is a global travel platform operating a portfolio of travel related brands and businesses. Brand Expedia is a full-service online travel brand offering travellers a wide range of services across travel products like air, accommodation, car rental and others, and is available in over 30 countries. Hotels.com gives travellers one of the widest selections of accommodations available online via its 90 local websites in 41 different languages.
Commenting on the new relationship, Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA Events SA Marketing Director, said: “Working with a data driven partner like Expedia Group offers exciting opportunities for us to explore as we look to expand our digital offering. As one of the world’s leading travel experts, Expedia Group’s experience in this field will be of huge benefit to UEFA and its partners, as we seek to grow the UEFA Champions League around the world.”
Mark Okerstrom, CEO of Expedia Group, said: “There is no better sport than football to bring fans together around the world to follow their dreams of UEFA Champions League glory, and no better way to make that happen than through the power of travel.”
Expedia Group will join Santander as a new partner for the 2018-21 UEFA Champions League cycle, and the agreement will complete the 2018-21 UEFA Champions League sponsorship sales process. The worldwide sales of all UEFA club competition sponsorship rights have been led by TEAM Marketing AG on UEFA’s behalf.
The partnership will be managed and activated by global creative marketing agency Octagon.
