Co-operative Food Launches Tennis Academy With Annabel Croft

Former British tennis player Annabel Croft has launched a Tennis Academy in partnership with The Co-operative Food and Activate Sport that will see a nationwide tennis coaching programme implemented across the UK to encourage young people to get into the sport in 2011.
The Annabel Croft Tennis Academy will take place at 13 venues across the UK and will be open to children from the ages of 7-16 years old. The Academies are designed to give expert tuition to improve the games of those children that already have experience of the sport, whilst also encouraging new fans of tennis. In addition, the camps will provide advice on nutrition and how to stay healthy.
The Academies will offer a fun, innovative and personalised introduction with coaching from industry professionals giving young tennis players the very best start. Children who show promise in these regional Academies will get the opportunity to be invited to the home of the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy in Roehampton where they will receive a coaching session with Annabel.
Former British player and founder of the Academy, Annabel Croft said, “Our key aim is that all of our players enjoy their tennis, improve their understanding of the game and are inspired to keep playing tennis for many years to come.”
Head of Sponsorship at The Co-operative Food, Liz Matkin, said, “We’re delighted to be involved with the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy and glad we can be instrumental in bringing top level tennis tuition to youngsters across the UK. The Co-operative Food is committed to inspiring young people and encouraging youngsters in communities across the UK to get active and be healthy, so partnering with Annabel Croft’s tennis academy is a natural fit for us.”
