BT Sponsors Inaugural Rock ā€˜nā€™ Roll Liverpool Marathon And Half Marathon

BT has announced its title sponsorship of a brand new mass participation running event, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool Marathon & 1/2 Marathon, staged by Competitor Group Inc.

The inaugural event, a celebration of Liverpool’s character and heritage will be held on May 25, 2014 for an expected 8,000 runners of all standards.

The course itself is a scenic tour of the city, starting and finishing at the iconic waterfront and passing many famous landmarks along the way – from hallowed sports grounds like Everton FC and Liverpool FC to legendary music venues like The Cavern, and the largest collection of museums and galleries in the UK outside of London. 

To keep runners inspired along the route, there will be live bands and DJs playing everything from alternative to classic rock, punk, funk and blues along every mile of the course. At the finish line, runners and spectators will be treated to a main stage festival starring local acts.

As well as supporting the BT Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in Liverpool this May, BT is the title sponsor of the BT Great CityGames in Manchester on May 17, 2014 which will bring some of the world’s best athletes to the city centre.  BT is also an official partner of the International Festival for Business, which is taking place in Liverpool this June and July.
