Barclays To Sponsor The O2

AEG Europe has signed Barclays as official retail bank of music venue The O2. The partnership will begin on January 2nd 2011 and will last initially for three years. The O2 attracts 7.5 million visitors a year offering Barclays an opportunity to showcase its brand to potential new customers.  Barclays Corporate will also manage AEG’s corporate banking activity in the UK.
Deanna Oppenheimer, CEO UK Retail Bank and Vice-Chair Global Retail Bank at Barclays said: “We see this as an innovative way to promote our brand in a city where we have our global headquarters and to benefit our customers and colleagues.”
Paul Samuels, Executive Director of Sponsorship at AEG added: “The team at The O2 will work hard, alongside Barclays, to ensure they activate their sponsorship of the venue to full capacity.”
Barclays is already the headline sponsor of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at The O2, the world’s biggest indoor tennis tournament.
