Barclays and Donmar Warehouse Launch New Audience Initiative

Barclays, the Principal Sponsor of the Donmar Warehouse in London, have announced a new audience initiative – Barclays Front Row. Two thirds of Donmar front row seats across both the stalls and circle will be held back for all performances, and put on sale every Monday for the week of performances two weeks later. These tickets are priced at £10 only, with no booking fee.

Barclays Front Row will widen the scope of access to the best seats in the theatre, and be targeted at new audiences to the Donmar.

The new initiative will give audiences constant short term access to the best seats in the house throughout a run. The first set of tickets for Julius Caesar will go on sale via all the usual routes – telephone, on-line and in person - on 19 November.

Josie Rourke, Donmar Artistic Director, said, “Barclays Front Row is a really important moment for the Donmar. It will allow us to offer front row seats for every performance at £10. We're hoping to break through the perception that you 'can't get a ticket' for our 250 seat theatre and introduce new audiences by offering exciting close-up seats at a brilliant price.”

Donmar Executive Producer Kate Pakenham commented, “We are extremely grateful to our Principal Sponsor, Barclays, for extending their support of the Donmar with the Barclays Front Row initiative as we launch this thrilling new programme of work for the coming season.”

Rich Ricci, Chief Executive of Corporate and Investment Banking at Barclays, said, “We are delighted to support the Donmar’s initiative, Barclays Front Row. By making front row tickets available at just £10 we will make this wonderful theatre more accessible to, and inspire, new audiences.  Barclays has a long tradition of supporting and contributing to the communities in which we operate so this partnership is an important part of that.”
